2024 Election Candidate Questionnaire

Hope Strategies is working toward equitable systems change to ensure everyone in our community has a safe place to call home. Part of this effort, included surveying the 2024 candidates for Osceola County Sheriff, State House of Representatives and State Senate in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. We emailed general election and primary  candidates--of all party affiliations-- questions around recent legislation and their views on solutions to homelessness. You can find the candidates who responded and their responses under each question. This fact sheet will be updated with responses if more candidates respond.

How Do We Get Everyone a Safe Place to Call Home?

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Sadly, in our community and yours, everyone does not. We’ve addressed some populations that are affected by poverty and homelessness, identified some of the common factors that destabilize people, and debunked a few myths. In this video, we’d like to teach you what our neighbors have taught us.

Why does poverty exist in this country? What causes a person to experience homelessness? What can be done about it? If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, then this video series is for you.
